CAEN AND THE BATS

En partenariat avec le Groupe Mammalogique Normand (GMN), une centaine de gîtes sera installée à Caen (20 déjà en place) et sont des cylindres de bois fixés dans les arbres et destinés à accueillir les chauves-souris (voir photo) de type Microchiroptère, bien sûr insectivore comme c’est le cas de tous les chiroptères européens. 

Le but de cette mesure est

-de lutter contre les insectes qui détruisent les  espaces verts, sans utiliser de produits toxiques et

-de protéger les 11 espèces présentes dans la région.

 

CAEN AND THE BATS


In  partnership with the Normand Group for Mammalogy Group inferred (GMN) a hundred tree-bat-houses will be installed in Caen (20 already set), they are wooden cylinders set in trees to accommodate bats (see photo). These bats are Micro - chiropters of course insectivore as this is the case with all European bats.
 

The purpose of this step is

-to fight against insects that destroy green spaces without using  toxic products  and

  


-to protect the 11 species currently existing in the area.
